Immutable backup involves storing data in an unalterable manner, meaning that once recorded, it cannot be modified or deleted for a defined period of time. This type of backup is particularly used to ensure the protection of critical data, especially against ransomware, accidental or malicious deletion, and falsification.
Unlike hard drives or SSDs, an LTO tape cannot be formatted or overwritten after the initial write, unless a very specific manual intervention is performed (physical erasure or deliberate system reset).
All deleted files are kept for 30 days to prevent accidental deletion. If necessary, archived data can be restored to your NetExplorer space with the assistance of our Support team.
No data is transferred outside France. The entire chain (software, infrastructure, processing) is operated by NetExplorer in data centers certified ISO 27001, HDS, Tier 3+, or Tier 4. NetExplorer is also in the process of obtaining SecNumCloud certification.
